Data Inventory

Since 1997, ASG has kept a record of all shorebird-related projects that have taken place in Alaska or at non-breeding locations through annual summary reports. These annual reports are critical in identifying shorebird research/monitoring efforts from the past and the present. Although annual summaries provide basic information such as who, what, when, where, and how, it is becoming more and more crucial that scientists know where and how their data are stored and to keep a detailed record of all data collected for each project. Beginning in 2023, ASG developed a tool to allow shorebird project data collected by ASG members to be findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable.
